Research interest and current research work

Josef Komenda focuses primarily on the biogenesis of photosystems I and II (PSI and PSII), including the incorporation of chlorophyll into pigment-proteins, the role of auxiliary factors in the assembly process, and the quality control and photoprotection mechanisms of PSI and PSII.
