JOB DESCRIPTION

From the beginning of my employment, I have been primarily responsible for the outdoor cultivation units and algae fermentation, maintaining the Chlorella species in the culture collection, replanting and cleaning them. My role also includes the preparation of stock solutions and media for all ongoing cultivations. Cleaning, assembling and sterilizing bioreactors for cultivation as well as seeding and growing the desired culture, including subsequent harvesting - centrifugation and preparing biomass for lyophilization. Assisting with sampling experiments, determination of OD, DW and cell counts. I spend a large amount of time on maintenance and administrative work in the lab.
