Within the Group of photosynthetic pigments, Éva studied the role of additional protein factors involved in the biogenesis of the photosynthetic apparatus (Bučinská et al, 2018; Kiss et al., 2019). Currently, she is mainly concerned with the connection of chlorophyll biosynthesis with the metabolism of arginine, an amino acid which helps balance nitrogen availability for anabolic processes in a fluctuating environment (Kiss et al., 2023). In this context, she further deals with clarifying the role of cyanophycinase in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803.
