Research Interests

I am passionate about protist diversity, ecology and evolution. My early career research focused on evolutionary genomics to study the origins of parasitism, plastids and mitochondria, primarily in apicomplexans and dinoflagellates. Our current research has expanded to other protist groups and explores the cellular and molecular basis of their metabolism and behaviour.
